glennster, sounds like we're in the same boat...except I knew the 4th gen cars were very capable...

My '01 is a better all around performance car (stock vs stock) than my '69 was. But, the '69 was more user friendly to passengers and for the trunk space. I hav'nt seen the photos of the 5th gen car, but some of the other posts imply that its got strong 1st gen influence, and IMO that will help the car be more attractive to more people, which will help slaes (survival).
