Okay, let's not forget a few things that are typical here...
  • Everyone should be able to have a fair opinion without fear or risk of being ripped apart or have their words dissected and scrutinized only to put them on the defensive. People's words don't have to be twisted around to make someone appear as though they said something that they in reality did not or may not have meant.
  • Everyone should be able to express their personal experience without anyone else immediately assuming they are stating that it is expected that everyone else will or should experience the same.
  • No one should be questioned as to why they are here. Everyone's post content answers that question by itself.

If you guys can't stop being so critical of each other, I might need to write the 10 commandments for this forum.

Come on, ease up on each other and work to get along.

The Camaro will come out when it comes out.

We have a year & a half to wait. The Camaro is suppose to hit the dealerships sometime around Oct of next year.

I do have my thoughts about when it will hit the dealerships & it will be a good Promotion for GM if they did it.

DO you guys know on Sept 16th 08 GM will Celebrate its 100th birthday?

Where did you come up with that? All indications (at least by Fbodfather) are that each Camaro model will be priced within $500 of each compareable Mustang model. That's a wash IMHO when it comes to pricing.

Doh! I knew I should've finished that first cup of coffee before I posted.

The 100th birthday of the General Motors Company, however GM's roots date back to Oldsmobile's birth as the Olds Motor Vehicle Company in 1897.

They are saying that now. And they've repeated the 'within $500' thing alot. But all indications are that they will be putting the new LS3 engine in the car making well in excess of 400 HP. That is not cheap. I'm sure the V6 model will be priced very closely to the V6 Mustang. But as far as the V8 is concerned, it'll be tough for them to get close to Mustang territory AND make it a quality car. But I think as long as the car is a solid car, people will buy the V8 models in large quantities, even if they are a couple grand more expensive. Now if it is well over 30k, that's a problem.

SO are you saying that Mustang is not a Quality made car? OH I know I am going to be flamed for that one.

Ok lets get down to the basics

The 02 Camaro the Top model SS was $35k fully loaded at most dealerships. with dealership mark ups. & the last 6 months of production of the Camaro were the best Quality made Camaro to date.

currently the Low bottom of the barrel Mustang is at 19,995 (MSRP)

The other than options the top model of Mustang is currently 27,620 (MSRP) (these prices are from Fords Website)
I just made one & only spent $32,375

I will expect the camaro to run right about $35-40 for the Top model & 20-25 for the low model. Mid range should be right in between them.

That is not bad. for the Camaro.

The top Mustang is $40K+. Are you suggesting the top Camaro will be in Corvette territory?

No. I sure hope not. Mind you the top Mustang (Shelby GT500) is subject to a major $15-$20k markup from alot of the dealers. We shall see. The one good thing is that with more muscle cars on the market like the Camaro and Challenger, logic dictates that there should be more downward pressure on prices. Currently, Ford is able to get away with big markups on their special edition Stangs due to not having any competition. We won't know for sure until the factories for all three companies churn these cars out of their assembly lines at full capacity.

HUH???? YOU dont get it the LS1 2002 SS fully optioned Camaro was priced at $35k brand new. So fully expect the same price or slightly higher for the top model of the Camaro in 09.

No matter what dealership you go to unless they can show you that they dont have a mark up will have 5-10k mark up if not higher on all the cars.

I know here in Western washington you cant get your hands on a Sky or even a mustang with out a 10k Mark up.

You know, you sure do talk alot, but where are you getting all this information?

As far as I am concerned you are just as un-knowledgeable as the rest of us when it comes to anything about a car that hasnt had pricing, or engine specs or ANYTHING RELEASED YET.

EVERYTHING IS A GUESS.

And just a little FYI, ANYONE can order a sky, or a solstive, or a Mustang from the factory, wait 2-3 months, and have it for MSRP or Less. The people that pay mark-up's are suckers.

But dont ever say that they CANT BE HAD without a 10k mark up, that is ignorant, and not even close to the truth.

I bought my FULLY loaded SS (the one in my sig), for 31k OTD.

So once again, where is this coming from...have you ever even bought your own car? Because if you are paying that for your vehicle, then you need to let someone else buy it for you...no offense, but seriosly.
