The "dead Pedal"

So who is for it in the new Camaro? I love the dead pedal in my car for diff reasons. It works great when macking hard turns. It also saves the carpet as well. To the lucky people who have seen the concept car, did you notice if it is there?

my car won't have a dead pedal, it will have a 3rd pedal that actually does something

Dead pedal is a must have. I need somewhere to rest my left foot when its not working the clutch. I'd say its a given though too.

My manual which is an 86 has a dead pedal and comes in handy. I dont like resting my foot on the clutch when Im in higher gears, not nessary.

dead pedal isn't a pedal. It's a hard surface in the corner to rest your foot. Manuals do have them.

Re: The "dead Pedal"

Wish my truck had one. I predict a nice hole forming in the carpet in a couple years.

Re: The "dead Pedal"

Mine is manual and has a dead pedal, moulded into the plastic on the side. I would much rather have a vehicle with one, than without, as you have no idea how much you use it until you drive one without.

Exactly. I don't think I'd buy a new car without one.

Re: The "dead Pedal"

In the pics it appears to have a dead pedal.
I'd say it's a safe bet that it will definitely have one.
Even the GTO got one after the first year due to the demand for it (and the fact that the only reason the first year didn't was due to the question of whether it would pass crash test standards).
I just made my own, I hated driving without one .

Re: The "dead Pedal"

I think they should have one for most people to use and that being said I have never used one in a camaro of mine because I show the cars to much of the year and don't want to show scuff marks maybe on any plastic or any other area of the car. I am very careful about everything in one of my camaro's. When I get in it I do not slide in the seat and make sure a foot never ever hits the carpet in the car. With over 70,000 miles on some of mine still can not tell the leather even on the drivers set has ever been used or sit on. But hey not many people are that funny about their cars.
