Damage to a Rim
I made the mistake of driving my 2010 Camaro in Washington DC. I hit a curb while parking and scufffed up the right front rim (Stock).
Does anybody have any sugestions on how to make the damage look presentable until I buy a new one?

Re: Damage to a Rim
If its only cosmetic...use jb weld or bondo to fill any deep scratches, sand it down and spray bomb the whole wheel. If it's not that big of an area, just use the touch up brush on the best matching touch up paint. I've fixed rims this way for years. It's a pain, but take your time and you might be surprised with the outcome.
Re: Damage to a Rim
ive curbed my 22's before...once. its not a huge deal. most people dont repair them though. body shops can do this. they basically sand the wheel down smooth and use some type of filler. then they just respray the wheel. after all, it is just paint and some metal.
Re: Damage to a Rim
i know a guy right now selling a set of 4 wheels with only 2 front tires for 300 bucks.
Re: Damage to a Rim
Name a body shop thay will do anything for $50! I'm just giving the guy some straight info from personal experience.PS you can buy a new knock-off brand wheel at Discount tire for about $167.But not in "hyper" silver.

Re: Damage to a Rim
im talking about gm midnight silver wheels that came off of a camaro with less than 100 miles. not knock offs. their all over ebay. ss eric even said theres all kinds of ss wheel sets going for sale in texas for around 600 a set. and the body shop i refer to that repaired my wheel was Lavery Chevrolet. its not a very labor intensive project and can be done quite quickly.
