I think the car is awesome. I've haven't heard anyone say to scrap the car and start over. So what are the mild things that you like, and want to fix.
*I love the rear fenders, very z06-ish.
*I loooove the sound.
*I love how the back wheels are larger than the fronts.
*I love the rear spoiler
*I love the hood for a base v8
*The engine bay looks real clean
*The seats are cool
Now I realize that the gas cap may not be placed on top of the car for the base version (gas drips will mess up the paint on the average person's car that isn't watching), but I really want it there for the Hi Performance version.
-The gauges are retro, no question. I don't like that.
-I'd want a slightly larger spoiler lip for a hi performance Camaro.
-I'd want a more aggressive hood for the really fast ls7 version of the Camaro
-The SMILEY grill also looks funny on the C6. You know how if someone starts to smile cause they are about to laugh, and you start smiling to and you can't hold it in? That is what its like for me when I see that C6 smiley grill.
I don't see it alot on the Camaro concept, but I see it some. The entire car look BAD, especially with the headlights set back under the hood to give it a shadow effect, but the smiley grill goes against that.

Re: Critiques
I wish it was longer, lower and sleeker like a jet figher 2nd through 4th gen - less upright and retro like a 1st gen.
But if you're going to do an ode to the 1st gen, this is great - makes the challenger look boring and slab sided by comparison.
I love the car's hips - and the lines where the door, rocker panel, and rear fender meet.
I like what appears to be ambient lighting that runs from the door panels across the dash - very S-Class and 7 Series, makes the car look upscale on the inside - if that can be kept for the production model at reasonable cost, do it.
Slap a wraparound rear hatch and t-tops on it like in the photoshop a fellow board member did and I'll definitely buy at least one.

Re: Critiques
1.) Too squared off in overall shape and profile. I really think it looks more Cadillac than rat racer. I think you could easily add some fluidity to the lines and keep or enhance the agressivness. Plus, if the wheels are going down to the 18 inch range for production, the proportions are going to get skewed out of wack big time.
2.) Stretch the rear quarter windor out more to follow the roof line more
3.) Tail lights. I like to using wrap arounds (unique today), but it looks like the designer couldn't design between 1st gen square and 2nd gen round, and split the difference.
4.) Close up the front grill. It's the biggest identifier to 1st gen retro.
5.) The I.P. I llike the way the dash wraps into the doors, but the twin pods aren't doing it for me.
6.) Add somesort of unique styling feature that is identifiable as a 5th gen Camaro and not a blending of different heritages.

Re: Critiques
beautiful.
Don't like the retro gauges on the dash, however, those on the console by the shifter are awesome.
I like some of the chopped grilles better, but I assume the aftermarket will take care of them. Please make them removeable GM!!!
Other than that, my only complaint is that I haven't seen a real one in black yet.

Re: Critiques
The more I look at it, the more retro the front looks, but I think its cause I'm staring at the same picture.
I can't get enough of the z06 styled hips on the back of the car, but the front keeps looking more retro the more I look at the pics.
Come one guys, keep talking.

Re: Critiques
I really like the design...and man do I love the interior.
My fear is that the interior won't be able to remain due to safety requirements.
The absolutely awesome 3 spoke stearing wheel will almost definately not stay due to air bag requirements but I hope they can figure out a way to keep it. Likewise, love the dash and don't want the smooth seamless design to be interupted with an airbag or glove box. (Mount to glovebox under out of sight)
I am personally a big fan of the gauges but would like to see them in action to ensure that they are not distracting.
The retro metal seatbelt buckles made me smile so I really think they should keep them.
All I have to say is I am truly excited by the concept.

Re: Critiques
Exterior: I dont like the way the body tapers in the side to the rear edge of the door and the flares back out behind it, and I'm not wild about the taillights. The roof line looks a bit odd but I can get used to it. Grill is okay but not great. Cowl hood is unnecessary and I despise fakeness in a performance car. Scoops, grills and air inlets should be real and functional or not be there at all.
Interior: Scrap the entire guage design and layout and make it more conventional and the steering wheel does not appeal to me at all.

Re: Critiques
I like the overall shape of the body. Especially the back end. The way it flares out like a Z06 looks great and so does the way the roofline meets with the trunk. I like the ducktail spoiler too.
Things I don't like:
The tail lights look weird. The shape should be symmetrical. With the bottom curving and the top being flat it just looks out of place/not well designed.
I'd like four rectangular or circular lights or just get rid of the gap between the pairs and make it two lights total with a long rectangular shape (similar to the '69 rear lights).
Same deal with the exhaust tips. Please make them round. It just looks better that way.
The side gills. These look cheesy. Leave that fake stuff for the ricer crowd. If they are actually functional (which I highly doubt), they should be one slit (like an F430).
The side view mirrors are kind of small. I'm pretty sure those will be enlarged for the actual production version.
The front grill and lights are not bad. It does look a little bit too Cadillac like though. One thing I hope they change is how pointed the nose is. I don't mean from a side view. Looking down at the hood from above the car, it has too much of a point in the middle. I think that's one of the things that make it look too much like a Cadillac with that sharp line going down the middle of the front end like that. I think they should flatten the front a bit. It'll give it a more broad and muscular look (not that it doesn't have that already). It'll look "meaner" too. I just don't like the pointed front. Look at the Challenger to see what I mean by a flatter front.
Another thing that gives it a strong Cadillac look is all the hard lines. If they could be smoothed out a bit that would help.
They need to scrap the retro interior. I'm pretty sure the guages near the shifter won't make it to production just because it's so impractical. I want a nice big IP with big, easy to read while driving, guages. Perhaps some slight retro cues in the materials but keep it a modern interior with good ergonomics.
Once again, overall it looks really awesome. I don't want to sound too negative about it. These are just honest and constructive points of criticism. I would be very happy if these things were changed for the production version because the rest of the car, including the drivetrain, are great.
