I wonder if the 1999 GTO concept provided the basis for the 2006 Camaro concept?

Not sure if it inspiration, or the similarity in hard points from the chasis that force a resemblance. Either way, they definitely share a similar profile, though the Camaro, to me, is by far the better looking concept.

it might be more than coincidence they look alike.

if the rumors around are correct, the next gen GTO will share it's chassis with the Camaro.

 

Still think that concept GTO looks crap

Too BIG for Torana... Camaro concept is all of 2m wide, which is a monstrous size... even compared to the current Monaro.

Monaro or Camaro... let's just get it downunder!!!

and i agree SSBaby, you guys totally deserve a version of the Camaro seeing all the work you put into it. i think it'd be unfair not to have a version for the Aussies to embarass the Ford boys with.

On the Camaro for Australia point...as its been raised on www.ls1.com.au the Monaro has always been a 2-door version of a parent 4-door car. Intresting to see how it goes anyway.

 

i got a feeling you guys are getting a coupe one way or another. it's only right. maybe we can just export the next gen GTO from up here and you guys can rebadge it as a Monaro.
