There may be other numbers that will overshadow those numbers, that stock GTO's couldn't touch.

I love my GTO but the only thing my GTO may do better than the new Camaro is accelerate a bit faster. As far as handling and suspension goes, the Camaro is light years ahead. I am actually interested in selling my goat and getting a new Camaro. It is sexy.

For the power and even weight the Camaro SS 6M should be capable of 12.9-13.3's at 109-111 mph in stock trim. I very much expect a 12 sec factory Camaro for those who can row the gears.
I fully expect to run high 12's stock.
I like GTO's but the Camaro with the LS3 has enough power to beat them.

It took me a while to figure out what was going on over there at that site. But I've concluded it's two things. (1) GTO buyers are more inclined to want/have a 'Grand Touring' coupe (for example the GTO has pretty huge rear legroom, which is nice) than a tighter muscle car - so they tend to frown on anything not fitting that bill; and (2) the site mods there set the tone, and are really not very supportive of GM products in general, in trying to 'be all things to all kinds of car fans' I guess. It's a real turn-off to me, and I subsequently don't frequent that site as much any more.

My GTO ran a 13.1 in stock trim as have many others. The GTO weighs in at about 3765 lbs. Either way, it will be pretty close. They are both nice cars but the guys at ls1gto.com sometimes get out of hand.
