Camouflaged ZL1 prototype unveiled at Michigan Fbody Show
Re: Camouflaged ZL1 prototype unveiled at Michigan Fbody Show
Remember, they are not done with the ZL1. Whatever ZL1 you see at events that look "finished" is just a concept. Remember that from the Camaro Concept days?
For every "show car" you see that is headed for production, there is a fleet of them at Milford having the snot pounded out of them to tweak them as far as they can.

Re: Camouflaged ZL1 prototype unveiled at Michigan Fbody Show
Oops, The reason that the car is in camo, I would guess, is that the Milford Proving grounds are only three miles away from this show. The car is probably a test mule taken straight off the high bank of the test track. Therefore it wouldn't be all pretty like some of the more showy cars - The tires and brakes looked like they had been well used. This was probably an early iteration of the concept, hence the wrap.
Re: Camouflaged ZL1 prototype unveiled at Michigan Fbody Show
Every time I see a ZL1 I'm reminded of how puny (width-wise) the 245 fronts are on the current cars. PLEASE offer a ~275 series front for the SS and RS cars!
245s looked decently wide when they were on 16" wheels (25" overall diam) on 4th gens with front ends that were much lower in profile. 245s on 20" wheels (28" overall diam) on a taller front end look scrawny!
Anyway, very cool that you guys got to hang with that car for a while. I miss Milford...
