Hah. Thanks It really wasn't that hard. Honest. A big thanks to Microsoft (visual studio/.net), Yahoo (geolocation web service), and Google (KML/google maps) for making it wwaaayyyy easier than it would've been on my own.

That is SO COOL. But how are you getting the feeds-VIN's, color's, type's,etc. Is that open infor to the public?

Basic process...
Pick a model (eg 2SS Auto, 1LT Manual, etc).
Start at serial # 100001. If it's already in the list, skip to the next serial.
Generate a technically valid vin for the current serial #
Plug it in to http://www.chevrolet.com/ws/nvlWindowSticker.cv?VIN=
If it returns an error, skip to the next serial number
If we got an actual result, parse through the text, find all the information for the car
take the dealer address and plug it into the Yahoo geolocation service and get the coordinates
insert the found info and coordinates into the database
move along to the next serial and repeat til its at 102000 (I'll keep bumping this up as more are found)
Once we've gone through all the possible VINs for this model, move to the next model and repeat

So although it's not open to the public in an easily extensible format, I've captured the necessary stuff from the web page and put it into a database I can use.

Isshinryu on Camaro5 apparently lives in my town, and is taking delivery of his yellow SS at a dealership less than three miles from my house. They're notorious for marking up prices. I wonder if he paid over MSRP.

Whatever... I'll be keeping my eyes peeled for a yellow one (not like they're hard to spot!).

That locator said there was a 2SS at my local dealership. Gave them a call and found they have none. Maybe this just tells you where they are going, not where they are.

from what ive heard ,delivery just started today. they may not have the car but that is what they must have ordered for a customer.

After going though a sample of the list, it looks as the black is the big hit. Also Avis has alot of Camaro's to their name.
