Re: Camaro Concept Design Sketches

I'd prefer it to have a front fender well vent on both the drivers and passenger side of the car

Re: Camaro Concept Design Sketches

Although I really like the concept as it was unveiled I think I like the cutouts under the headlamps - it gives the car a visual tie to the second gen cars and I think I prefer the taillamp treatment in the second picture.

I cetainly hope that all of the side sculpting curves and creases make it to production (but maybe not the gills) - gives the car a lot of character and adds aggressiveness to its demeanour.

I'm sure the will "dumb down" the creases, just they the mustang was dumbed down

Somewhere I remember hearing Bob talk about the headlamp openings. I had heard they had the cutouts but can't remember why they were dropped. Potentially too retro?

Personally, I prefer it without the cutouts.

Maybe the cutouts have/had a different effect in the flesh on a real model - so to speak. Although good looking in a sketch, they may not be really workable on the real car. There are some angles and curves in the overall cutout that may be tricky to get right as part of the larger grille aperature and not spearate holes in the front facia. What do y'all think?

I think the scowling semi circular taillamps give a stronger visual tie to other Chevrolet coupes - Cobalt and Corvette than the ones that actually made it the concept.

Re: Camaro Concept Design Sketches

Wow! Those are very nice. Thanks for posting..

I like the rear ends shown there (esp. the 2nd pic down) better than the rear of the Detroit concept. But without actually seeing them on a CG model or on a good photo-chop of the concept, I can't say if they would work with the rest of the concept in the real world.

I think it looks too much like the new eclipse in these sketches... although i the headlights in these drawings do give it less of a "1st gen only" fell of it to me
