Camaro coming to Houston Auto Show?

I've seen posts about it being in other places and just wanted to know if the Camaro will be at our Houston Auto Show. Usually the car companies don't bring too many new/exciting vehicles if other shows are running at the same time.

Since it's from 1/24 - 2/1 I just wanted to know if Scott or someone else can find out and let me know. It would be nice to sit in one and show the wife what I want to get.

I'm also wondering if we'll get a production car or two. I've never understood why the Houston show has been such a low priority for the manufacturers. Our economy has been healthy for 2 decades, our infrastructure is completly designed around car usage, we're not into public transportatiion....what's the damn deal!?

I cant see why not, the concept was here last year. It's a Camaro after all which is going to be a regular production vehicle, so if they brought the concept last year, why wouldn't they bring the current pre production version

I PM'd Scott a while back and got this reply:

I do have a Camaro or two planned - but I'm at home and the matrix is at work - and it gets changed daily anyhow...think of it as 'Christmas eve' -- you are just never sure what will be under the tree!

Production intent Camaro will be at every nationally supported show this season (including Houston...)

Not sure that the car will be opened -- it depends on which unit is sent - the car MUST have a 'finished' interior - otherwise, we can't leave it opened.

(and YES - we know Texas is our largest market.....)

Is the Vancouver International Auto Show considered nationally supported? Dates March 31-April 5. Thanks!

I only cover the United States shows -- but I've gotta believe that GM of Canada will have a Camaro at Vancouver -- that's a big show!

The Houston Auto Show recently updated their website earlier this week and have stated they will have the Camaro available as Fbodfather has said. The kicker here is if we get to sit in one or not. I have been praying and begging the Gods, whoever they may be, to have this available as I plan to be one of the first one's to go in tommorow to get as much infomration (papers/brouchures) etc. as I can before they run out as well as use my DSLR to take as much pictures as I can. If I could sit in it, then some people may have to wait a few minutes as I inspect and take pictures like a Japanese tourist in Disneyland!

God I can't wait for tommorow!

Btw, those who plan to attend the Houston Auto show, when do you plan to go? Maybe we can work some type of small group thing. Obviously it is a bit late to organize anything major, but its never a bad idea to meet fellow car lovers and drool over a beloved car together right?
