This from GM:
The all-new Camaro will begin with early production versions at the end of 2008 and will go on sale in the first quarter of 2009.
Re: Bob says: "Give the people what they want".
wow... I like what it was said in the blog... "In terms of chassis excellence, we will be completely "no-compromises." "
this is the base for the car... this is the solid ground it needs to stand on. So with this "no-compromise" chassis a solid body can on onto it.
Awesome news...

ok- first, of course this is awesome news.
Second, GM needs to talk with MotorTrend to get their facts straight!! Motortrend clearly stated in a recent issue that the new Camaro would be in production at the end of this year as an '07- why isnt GM doing what Motortrend has commanded them to do? Surely MT has the time line correct and GM has it wrong- can someone get GM to follow the MT line??!!
Dont confuse me with the facts!!

He aslo hints that some models will be "less then affordable" which I suppose, is a given. Too me that sounds like we will get at least one very powerful Camaro and produced in decent numbers.
Re: Bob says: "Give the people what they want".
"We'd post something about fuel economy; someone would respond by telling us to build a new Camaro. We'd write about the latest J.D. Power Dependability Study; someone posts about missing Camaro. Our revamped value pricing system? Camaro. A brand-new GM rollover testing facility? Camaro."
Best lines of the whole thing, right there.

Firebird huh? Give the people what they want, huh? Hmmmm.
People in "the know" here, are we still looking at one or two v6s for the 5th gen powertrain?
