Everyone can sit and IMO, JMO, GUESS, on pricing all the way up to its release- that's one thing. The question is, at what price are you still a buyer?
What's your threshold of pain?

Please base your poll answer on what you intend to buy, but include both V6 and V8 in your comments regardless of which you intend to buy.

FWIW, my threshold on buying either V6 or V8 is:

V6: base 24/loaded 26
V8: base 32/loaded 36

How 'bout you?

I think the base and loaded figures need to be spread apart a little more. Unless things like navigation and such are included in the base price, the range is going to be much more than 2-3k, atleast thats what I would guess. My dad has been tossing around the idea of a new car for a while, and after pricing them with the options hes looking for (which doesnt include navi) the price jumps up 4 to 5k pretty quick.

FWIW, I agree that I probably should have made the gap 3k on the V6 models. In general though, there are usually some options only available to the high-end models in a particular car line. I would expect the same from the Camaro, hence a wider gap on the V8 pricing.

I didn't see the vert listed but up to 33K for a vert SS is the most I will pay.

IMO, you may be able to squeeze into a vert SS for 34 but it will be barebones base; no leather, no RS pkg, etc... like the supposed SS coming in at under 30k (29995 ) +4k for convertible option. Plus you'll have another model year price increase by then for 2011.

Well I don't want leather as it is too hot in a vert. Have it now.
Don't want or need the RS option. Just 400+ HP, power top, automatic, and an Ipod jack and I am all set to go cruisin.

I will not be buying a camaro unless the base v8 is under 30k. Even if it's 29,995 I'll buy the v8 with some options, but i'm not paying a dollar over 30 for the base.

The '02's were $35K range. I seriously doubt it will be less 7 years later for a better car. I'm betting the verts will push past $40K.

And this is why they sold horribly. They were way over priced for the quality and comfort of the car. They performed well but not enough to make up for the poor build quality and lousy ergonomics.

There is no reason the base V-8 SS car needs to cost more than $25,000. This ain't a Caddy it's a Chevy.

All the cushy comfort items need to be optional like they were in the beginning. I want my non-air conditioned, manual brake, manual steering, manual adjustment seats, manual adjustment mirrors, manual window, manual door lock, no console six speed SS just the way a muscle car was intended to be.

$35 maybe as a loaded convertible...
You could get a 2002 Z28 coupe for $23 grand base price. And the SS could be had for just under $27k base price.

There's a grade-A powertrain...there's a high-quality interior...there's a superior chassis....a need for GM to make money off of a sale...among other things.

Look at the Mustang; option it how you'd want your Camaro, and add $1,000. That's the best bet for now as far as pricing, imo. Any higher and it's going to fall off the face of the earth again.

Keep in mind the Solstice GXP is 32000$. The Camaro RS SS is MUCH more of a car than the Solstice and I don't expect it to be just 3000$ (give or take) more than a tiny two door car with a 4 cylinder... If anything and to be realistic, the Camaro RS SS will be closer to 38k.

Keep in mind the Solstice GXP really isn't a "production car" when compared to what the Camaro will be either. More= cheaper; simple economics.

p.s. Camaro supposed to be in my "backyard" Saturday at the Buffalo GM Powertrain Plant. Some car show and anniversary extravaganza. Open to the public so I'll keep you all informed...
