The concepts were done by the General Motors design studio by the General Motors Corperation.
The 2 Bumblebee cars were done by an outside company, contracted by the movie studio as running props for a film.
If a movie studio paid you to turn a Malibu into a car that looked like a Chevy Volt concept, would that car be a concept or a running movie prop based on a concept?
I remember that there were at least 3 unarmed guards at the unveiling keeping everyone's buttons, zippers, and wool jackets off the finish of the concept, so I imagine that model "draped" on the car probally probally made the blood pressure rise a bit, huh?
