They do sell the footwell ambient lighting as an accessory that you can purchase.

I know when Camaro Scotty showed us the accessory catalog with prices it showed the footweel lighting as an accessory with a picture. I think it was something like $350. It appeared to be a roll of ligh tubing that I would assume would plug into the footwell light sockets and the tubing would clip underneath the bottom of the dash where the current bulbs are located.

From what I gather it would be totally hidden and only provide a small amount of light, that is basically what ambient lighting is, just a subtle amount of light in the footwell area. I am guessing that it would be available in either the blue or the orange colors to match the ABL in the door or even the dash lighting.

I just went back and checked on Newman Chevrolets parts section on their website. This is what the ABL footwell lighting is. I thought it was a tube, but it appears to be just 2 harness/plug-in type of lighting attached to wire about 12 inches long. It probably just plugs into the existing footwell bulb sockets and clips up underneath in the footwell. It might actually be pretty cool, but $200 is kind of pricey. It might be just as nice to replace the incandescent bulbs in the footwell with a white or blue LED bulb! here is the link...

That's not ambient lighting....My CTS has ambient lighting, and it lights up the whole floor of the car from front to back.

I love the new Camaro, but a strip of light does not equal ambient lighting.

Maybe I just remember wrong but in the concept video the light "ran" across the dash upon startup. I know the ambient lighting across the dash didn't end up happening but I was wondering if there was still any remnant of the lighting running along the door panel or something. If it just comes on then what is so cool about the ambient lighting? Wasn't the ambient lighting what Scott was talking about a while back when he said the car did something really cool on startup?

Thats how it should be. Too bright and it'd be hard to see outside the car at night.
