It's probably remote only. I'd guess Camaro will have remote keyless entry as standard, so why clutter the rear or spend the money on the lock cylinder? There's surely an internal release in case of remote failure.

Could this be a distinguising feature between the V6 & V8 models? I have been wondering if/how GM would be set them apart considering that both apparently have dual exhaust.

There are some pictures that have been out already that reveal the same thing.

It could also be like the 3rd gens, the the lock was underneath the license plate.

Nice pictures at some good angles . I really hope they intend to use the shadow chrome finish( what GM calls it anyways ) thats on those wheels . It looks so nice compared to regular silver , polished or chrome .

The more I see it the more I love it . I just really cant wait to see the finished product .

Manufacturers have been heading in that direction for a while. My Mom has a 2007 Lucerne, no trunk lock. The new CTS, nada. I think the new Malibu is without one as well. I'm sure I'm missing a few more GM vehicles without it that are already in current production. BMW, MB, Lexus: not one of their cars has a trunk lock and haven't for a few years.

Makes for a cleaner look, increases the difficulty to break in to it, and in general just eliminates a part that most people don't use much anymore anyway (anyone with remote locks/trunk - how often do you actually use the key to unlock the trunk? I know I don't)

I think this pic really tells the story of how low and small the Camaro is. The roofline is slightly above the window line of the Tahoe but also compared to the Zeta Sedan, Lumina/G8/Commadore it's got a lower nose and roofline. The Prius looks like a Highlander next to the Camaro.... probably runs like a Highlander next to a Camaro too.

I'm going to take a wild guess and say that the headlights arn't going to change from what we see here or is there anymore word on that?
