$42,000 for SS

I went to Bankston Chevrolet this morning to see the Camaro they had on display and heard that the car was sold for $42,000. The staff said that the woman who bought it just kept offering more until they would give it to her.

Saw this flaw in the vinyl, the staff was talking about how they were going to try fix it before the car was delivered to the customer.

45K in SoCal

Was at my local Valencia dealership tonight to get my 2SS, silver with the RS package and the dealership has a 10k markup on the car. Total sticker price is 45k. The sales person said that every dealership has marked them up that much and if I wasnt willing to pay the markup they wouldnt consider selling it to me. Guess I'm not getting my baby til the drop the mark up!

I can't blame them for selling it if they can get it. It won't be too long before all dealerships are selling the car at or below MSRP. What's the old saying about fools and their money?

A recent article says that they are boosting production. Hopefully, this will help curb the markups.

i just went to the dealership that i saw the orange ss/rs at. its blackleather and the black stripes like that. they are selling it for 10k over sticker. only because it is a camaro in stock and not for an order. all the other pre orderes were sold at MSRP. 46k for it.

They might as well have. If they wouldn't sell until she hit some magic number (which happened to be 42k) then they basically marked it up.

I saw an ad here in northern California for a similarly equipped 2SS for more than $47k.
