USB come and go?

About every fourth or third time I start the car, it fails to detect my IPod ITouch. Most times, unplugging its cable from the USB port in the center console and plugging it back in will "find" it. Some times, I have to shut down the car, and then it detects it with no cable fiddling at all upon restarting.

So, is anyone else having to reboot their Camaro to detect the IPod?
(I'm not used to the idea of a car needing a firmware upgrade, or a service pack for its OS)

No, but sometimes my iPhone stops playing and disconnects from the system. Maybe it is related to the same problem?

Howdy, Jason,

That's interesting about your IPhone. Do you connect it via Bluetooth for playing music? Do you USB-connect and can make phone calls that way?

I think something is wonky with my USB connectivity. It's so intermittent that it'll be hard to troubleshoot. I also want to check the IPod to see if there are any firmware udates for it that might make it behave better.

I do not have the ability to stream music via Bluetooth to my knowledge. I have heard this mentioned before, but no real details.

Have to have the iphone 3G in order to have Stereo Bluetooth streaming.

Just a thought though. Since i is so random, I wonder if the connection on the other end is loose.

Something like this. I do not have a 5th gen But I have found several references to getting it paired with blue tooth.

Press CD/Aux button (under display screen)
If no CD is present in player, radio goes to Aux In mode.
Press Menu/Select (center of tuning ****)
Radio enters Bluetooth Setup Menu
Press Menu/Select to Select Device

You also need to have blue tooth turned on in your phone of course. Just follow the menu one you get into the blue tooth mode. on the car. I am assuming you know how to do it on the iphone. (if not I am sure there is all kinds of help on how to do that.)
