So just how does the sunroof look / function

Sorry if I'm repeating here but I can't find a decent pic of the sunroof (OPEN) anywhere. I keep reading how people wish it "tucked in" like the imports and how "ugly" it is "on the outside". I'd like to judge for myself (since in 6 days I get to order ) but, like I said, I can't find a pic of it (OPEN) to judge for myself. Link anyone?

It doesn't slide inside the roof. It indexes up and then back, over the rest of the roof.

I think this would be similar to how later model Grand Am's worked.

Not a big fan of it myself, but I was not getting a sunroof anyway so this doesn't count as a negative hit like I know it will others.

Usually the only sunroofs that tuck in import or not are on larger sedan's the coupe's roof lines in any car don't have enough room.

My wife has a 06 Mitsubishi Galant (ya, I know, rag on...) and its sunroof does "tuck". In no way do I consider that car a large sedan. I understand that the Camaro's does NOT tuck, hence this thread for a pic of it open.

FWIW...

If it tucks in, it's a moon roof, not a sun roof. If it pops up, or pops up and slides back, it's a sun roof.

The sunroof (or moonroof) in my G35 coupe tucks into the roof and the cars probably similar in size to the Camaro. The Camaro may have a larger sunroof than the one in my car and maybe thats why they couldn't have it tuck in. It sure would have looked alot better if they could have some how got it to tuck in.

Judging from the size of the sun roof panel, it doesn't look like it would tuck nicely inside the roof. Also, if they did manage to tuck it in, it would reduce rear head room a bit.

Yep, and then it would have a roofline like a Saab from the 80s.

I was considering the sunroof at first, but then reconsidered it. I was never a huge fan of the way it looked open, thought it was OK, was never in love with it. Besides, the summers here in NC can be pretty brutal and it would not get much use most of the year. I have one on my Equinox and it only gets opened a hand full of times a year, usually only in the fall/spring.

I put a lot of thought into the sunroof option and I came up with the decision to get it for a couple of reasons. I don't like the reverse mohawk and think the car looks cleaner with a flat roof, I don't have to use the roof if I don't want to, I will never see it open because I'm inside the car and will most likely close it when I get out and I really miss my sunrof since my new truck doesn't have one. Oh and yeah they aren't going to offer T-tops so this is my only option.
