I am getting an M6 car. Does anyone know if the stock shiftknob is the same thread pattern as the old 4th gen cars? THe new leather shift **** looks great, but I want to install my old 4th gen spherical shift ****. It simply feels "home" in my hands.

I've had it in several of my f-bods.

 

It is actually pressed on. If you give it a quick pull upward it will pull right off. You would have to cut the threads onto the shifter arm. Not hard to do.
