The use of cooled seats tends to reduce the use of traditional air conditioning, which improves fuel economy...

http://www.sciencedaily.com/releases...0302174451.htm

Though I will say that when I worked at an upholstery shop we did have a number of Lincoln Navigators come in because the air conditioned seats were forcing foam fragments through the pores in the seat fabric, creating a furry effect...

I still say cooled seats are a good idea...

too much weight...gimme some nice cloth seats that are simple but nice/comfortable..kinda like the 93-96 lt1 seats. the seats in my 97 are ok but too "fun" for my taste

What exactly makes a seat 'fun'?

I agree a nice heavy fabric is preferable to leather. My '05 Aveo has nicer cloth than MANY other cars I've been in...

like the fabric design change they did..93-96 got plain style cloth seats, and 97-02 got some funky weird pattern in seats

Really? I don't remember my '02 having an 'funky weird pattern' on the seats...

Anyone have a pic of this?

I have to totally agree.

The 93-96 looks cheap, thin and rough.

The 97-02 looks (and now that you've jogged my memory, is) soft and thicker.

The seats had a slight 'marble' pattern. I don't consider that 'strange'. LOL If it looked like bubbles or something, then I could see the 'too fun' comment.

The one thing I remember that I didn't like though, was how the material wrapped up on the top of the door. I tended to rest my elbow/arm on there, or out the window and it began to show signs of wear in that one spot.

I'm laughing at the "weight savings" guys posts.

How much do you guys weigh? I'm 140 lbs. When I take my car out, should I tell my woman that she can't ride with me because she's an extra 125 lbs?
