Which fender vents are best?

I'm trying to decide which sort of fender vents look best on the 2010 SS. I'm inclined toward the oval ones, but the rectangular ones with a simulated grate are interesting. Which ones have y'all picked, and were you pleased?

Does anyone make fender vents with like an exhaust stub sticking out? The effect would be like the exhausts on a Spitfire or P-51.

Thanks for any input!

Right on both counts, Jason!
I think that the oval ones would be coolest. I'm glad I've already got good wheels!

I used to occasionally see cars with neon tubes underneath, so that the glow reflected from the pavement. Haven't seen anything like that in years, though. I wonder if you can still get that done?

if your going to put fender vents on please do it right. i see people with cadillac devilles putting 2-3 on each side. this is not right. the fender vetns were first made to be functional first off. and secondly it signifies the number of cylinders on that side. so on a v6 you would have 3 on each side and on a v8 you would have 4 on each side. too many people do this and think it looks good when they just make themselves look dumb when not doing it right. and if it were me, i would do something to match the lines of the car. so no circles or ovals. probably rectangular.

In that case, I will put 5 on each side. I want people to think I have a Viper engine in my Camaro.

Good point, 2010_5thGen, goes back to the exhaust port roots of the "vents."

Jason, I'd also considered putting Z-71 badges on it to really confuse people, but I really like the red SS.

Well, I hear that they are going to make a Camaro Z71 already, to compete with the AWD rally cars like what Subaru offers.

You should do eight on one side. People will think you've got an ultra-rare straight eight.

I would imagine, then, that a properly accessorized Veyron would have four running on each side of the hood, plus four on each front fender.

But the age old oval v. rectangular question remains.
