Having been in many 5th gen. Camaro's over the past year between auto shows and dealer lots I have been debating on weather I want to purchase my 7th Camaro at some point in the future when the 2011 and/or Z28 model comes out.

Yesterday while visiting my local Chevy dealership I sat in a 2SS/RS and once again the smell of the plastics and glue in the interior of the car makes me want to puke! It is seriously nauseating. This car smells worse than every made in Mexico Ford I have been in. It reeks of cheapness. Shouldn't the leather interior make it smell like leather inside.

I just can't get over the smell of this car. So much so that it has driven me away from wanting to purchase one. Does anybody else have this issue? My 2000 SS I ordered new did not have this issue (it smelled like leather) nor has any other car I have ever owned.

Anybody else notice this?

 

Nope. Mine smelled like a new car to me.

 

I sat in one a few months ago, and like Jason has said, it smelled like any new car would. Maybe the dealership had something to do with that.

I have been in more than one that smelled that way. Maybe just bad luck.

 

never smelled glue and cheap plastic in mine. mine smells like leather and a hint of new car. it also smells like VICTORY!!!!!!

not to be mean or negative toward you, but if everyone you have sat in smells the same, and no one else has smelled this smell, maybe its your stink your smelling?

 

I came here because I thought it said "The Camaro Skank!"

Now I'm disappointed.

 

Touche' my friend but I can assure you that I shower regularly and keep clean. I would also point out that the Z06's that I am also looking at and considering smell rather nice inside.

 

I am with you all the way brother. I hate when i'm listening to a great new song with masterful guitar licks, killer drumming, tight *** bass, and while I am in total bliss right up until the point when some idiot starts to puke all over the microphone and ruins the whole damn thing!

was it at the same lot that you looked at the camaro? and was the z06 new?

i got a couple of 2SS's a 1LT and 3 LS's and none of them smell any diffrent then any other new chevy on the lot
