Pro stars & wheel studs.

Just throwin this out there for some feedback on personal experience. I recently purchased some Pro Stars and put them on the car while I wait out winter here in PA. I've been debating on what studs to get. I've read the STICKY so dont get all Injuneer on me please, who has used the ARP 2.5 studs front and rear and did you have any issues? I really don't want to swap studs when I change wheels, but I don't want to total my car or die (correct order) either. I'm not cheap but $140.00 ARP(3.25) for wheel studs compared to $50.00 ARP (2.5) . GM's were $5.74 a piece! I need 20. Are there better alternatives?,Places to buy em?, My brain is fried from searchin.

Re: Pro stars & wheel studs.

I know depending on what track you go to they can be douche bags about wheel studs. i know Tony(CamaroRacing12) had issues with the 2.5 studs and the pro stars. they didnt come threw the lug nut far enough and he failed tech.

Wow someone finnally responded. Thanx.... I am mostly concerned about safety. I understand that the 3.25 would be safer but it may be overkill. I cant help but think I still have more thread engaugement than the OE wheels and studs. I was just looking for a happy medium between switching wheels back and forth and remaining safe without BATMOBILE or James Bond looking tire shreadders sticking out.

Re: Pro stars & wheel studs.

yeah as far as safety goes you need only as much threads contacting the threads in the "NUT" of the lug as the wheel stud is wide. So if its a 1/2-20 stud you need a half inch of thread inside the meat of the nut to be within spec for proper torque. But some tech guys want to see a few threads Past the open end of the lug nuts. its really there call.
