HELP- Blown Engine

Hi, I have a 1994 Camaro with a V6. Driving home from work last night I blew a head gasket. The car has 133300 miles on it. Is this worth fixing or should I just get a new engine? The exterior of the car has all been redone. You can see it at http://lans442.tripod.com I'd love to put a V6 or V8 in with a 6 speed manual. It has an auto right now, is this possible to do. I need some suggestions. Thanks

a head gasket isn't really that hard a job to do i would suggest taking it apart and fixing it. not only will you learn a little bit about your car but you'll have the satisfaction of watching her run and knowing that you helped make it that way. mostly the hard part of the job is moving all the **** to get to your heads themselves. after that the procedure is pretty straightforward. If I were you i would do it myself but i would take it to a shop to make sure you didn't warp the head. Its always better to check then to just slap them back on and hope they are still flat

Re: HELP- Blown Engine

for your transmission the only tranny that will work is the T-5 5 speed from an existing V6 the bellhousing from the V8 tranny will not mate to your engine, there are many posts on this site about the swap and parts needed for it if you think it will be worth it then do it it is possible but its a lotta work
