deleting the oil cooler on a 93 -- do i need this part?

I am going to delete the oil cooler/warmer on my 93 camaro -- do i need to get the oil filter adapter piece? or is that already on my block?

This is the part #: 3952301

I was under the impression that the oil cooler was an extra unit held on by a couple bolts, and a hollow center bolt that you put the filter on. If i take the cooler off, will i still need to put that part on?

Thanks!

when I did mine on my 94 I didn't need anything but a coolant bypass hose.

Here are pics of what I did...

Here are the bolts that would hit the oil filter...

Here is comparing one that is cut to one that isn't

Here is the OEM adapter installed on the block...

and with a new oil filter. With the extra room you can use the truck filter... it is a bit longer and it helps get a wrench on it when I change the filter.

Those are stock bolts with the "hat" cut off.

might be me, but looks like you have a crack around where your oil filter seal sits.
