Rearend Trouble Still

I still haven't addressed the problem with my 9 bolt rear. I think I need either a new posi unit or have this one rebuilt (I've read they have rebuild kits for these).

Does anyone (Taner,Roman) know of a shop in the Windsor area that has worked on these or at least know what they're talking about? I'd rather stay in Windsor but would think about going across the river if I have too. I'd rather avoid the nice excahange rate though.

go to www.9bolt.com (might be a hyphen in there) they have parts and rebuild info.

Call Scott Koresky if you want to come over to MI and have it repaired. His number 586-801-8046.

As Mike said call Scott. If Scott can't do it it can not be done. He is cheaper than taking it to a shop and it will be done right.

Is Scott a mechanic with his own shop? Do you guys know him personally? I may end up calling him since it seems that no one around here has really done work on these rears.

Scott used to work for DTS (DriveTrainSpecialists) in Warren until he left to take a job at American Axle. He is as professional as they come, but does work on the side out of his garage.

He has all the knowledge and tools necessary to complete the job right.

9 bolt

Hi all i seen your posts and i haven't got any voice messages and i check everyday. as for the 9 bolt , it's not that much different from the 7.625 or 7.5, it just has bolt in axles not c-clips. but for parts you might want to check out the 9 bolt web sight, for me to get parts i'll call DTS and they will get from a dealer, so costs will be high. again call me at 586-801-8046 try after 2o pm , i work afternoons so my schedule sucks. later scott

Scott, can you give me any idea how much $$$ I'm looking at for you to do the work? You can email if you like. I have been in touch with Miles at 9bolt.com. He said all parts needed for a posi rebuild won't be available until later this month. I know parts are expensive, do you get deals on parts from anywhere else?

Let me know.

9 bolt

usually for a posi rebuild i will charge $80 for labor and gear lube, if i have to get into it further then i usually charge $125.00. as for parts your better off dealing with the people at 9bolt.com , i would only be getting prices at retail from a dealer, not wholesale.
call me at 586-801-8046 for further info. later scott.

Haven't forgot about you Scott. Just had to find the thread to get your # and thought I'd bump it up to the top.

How long does it take you to take it out, rebuild and put it back in? Just wondering since I would have to come across the border.
