just wondering how good these noids are, and how long ppl have had them with no problems. Only thing that can ruin my engine is if the nitrous solenoid fails to close or the fuel noid fails to open. Has this happened to anyone, and if so, what precautions shoud i take?? I think they have rebuild kits for the noids, when should they be rebuilt??? Thanks.

 

test them before u install it on your car and/or u could send them to NX to be rebuilt, but then again u can find a new one pretty Cheap. i think tbryne has one in their "garage sale" for like 50 a few weeks ago...

thats why i bought a whole new kit...didnt want to take that chance ya know??

 

thanks, but thats not what i'm asking. They are NEW, and they DO WORK NOW. I'm just wondering if anyone has used them for awhile, and they failed on them under normal use......... and how long the life expectency on the noids themselves are. Becuase you know, your whole engine relies on the noids, if they fail, your pretty much done. Especially if your spraying a 150 shot, and the fuel noid doesn't open, or if the nitrous noid sticks open and your motor is getting drowned in nitrous. THanks

 

I havent had 1 fail,but a friend did have a N2O noid failt to close last season at the track. lukcily he only bent the carb butterflies.
It was a 8 year old cheater solenoid,that might of been rebuilt once.

 

It's important to use a n2o filter and cap your lnes when ever you remove them. #1 cause of n2o noid failure is carpet fiber.

 

I bought a 2yr old used kit that had a "bad" fuel solenoid. The guy didn't tell me how it happened. Anyway, NX rebuilt it for free under their lifetime warranty.

As far as I know, this guy was just running a regular 100 or 150-shot.

 

I was riding in a friends truck and the nitrous noid stuck open. It started popping and revving for no reason. He caught it in time and cut the truck off. The intake had 1/4 inch of ice on it. It was a compucar kit and he left the bottle on all the time. I think that is why it failed.

 

I've haven't had any went bad on me yet. My system is about 2 years old. But I did have the 10# NX bottle fail under pressure. To check your system remove the nozzle from the elbow and do a dry run. Point the nozzle away from your face and engage the WOT switch by hand. See if it spray's and and listen for the solenoids to click on and off.

Yeah...leaving the bottle open all the time put pressue on the noids and can lead to premature failure FWIU.

I wonder what NX recommends for rebuild time? How many bottles? lb's or runs down the track before a rebuild?

 

I've never had any problems with anyones fuel solenoids, but I've had many probs with nos and compucar's smaller power shot type solenoids both sticking closed (many times) and open (once with nos). I've heard that Nx has some pretty good solenoids and have seen that they use telfon rubber goods.

If your worried about the nitrous solenoid not closing then run 2 nitrous soldenoid in line. If your to worried about the fuel solenoid not opening then you can always opt for some good aftermarket injectors and a dry kit.

 

I bought a used NX kit. The n2o noid failed to close on a run. Luckily I caught it in time and flipped the arming switch. Came down to debris in the line. NX fixed it for free.
