Sometimes ya gotta wonder though with what they are producing and giving us.
When I owned my Cobra, Ford did exactly what everyone wanted with the new 03 Cobra, took them forever to do it, but they finally did it. we always wanted seats that would hold you in, better leather, 6spd, supercharger, bigger wheels etc etc.
C'mon GM, where's our toy!!

It takes time for ideas to filter through GM. What they have now is the product of the powers that be cira 1997-1998. It'll take till 2005-2006 to find out for sure how much they listen.

I think they do.
What GM *SHOULD* do is make a site like this for all GM vehicles. They should have a message board for each car line and model to draw on the wealth of experience and knowledge the internet offers. It would be a direct link from the future past or present buyers and GM. Allow us to rant about no new F-body, Aztek or Avalanche styling gripes, and GTO questions. They should have a staff of people willing to take results down from online polls, and answer questions to the best of their abilitys. They should have a forum for GM service and quality concerns like piston slap or warped rotors and recalls. GM should plays heads-up with us instead of us having to fish for info on our vehicles. GM could use this wealth of internet data to shape future GM plans. GO back to giving the customer what they want.
Like the President who gets briefed each day on his approval rating. When Bob Lutz or Wagoner come in each morning they should be briefed as to whats the buzz on GM's internet site for customers. Allow veteran members or current GM vehicle owners to log in to a special area of future vehicles using their vin# and name. The special forum would allow memebers to vote on 2-3 proposals on new designs just like the big shots do when making a decision. This way they have the clinic results, online results and would be able to make a better, more educated decision on future styles.
Just an idea...

Designers at GM are all over the forum you just don't know it(like myself). But come on do you really think upper management use there spare time surfing the web. Most of us have only seen Lutz and Wagoner maybe once a year. Second do you really think they listen to us. If they could sale nothing but Fiero's for 50 years, and turn a big profit they would.
Bottom line Design/Eng.:Warren,MI
Lutz/Wagoner etroit,MI

That's too bad for GM then, if that's the case. Currently seeing 97-98 ideas. Having to wait 4 more years till 2006 to see if they will surprise everyone and get something right. If they don't get it right, go on protest again in 2006 and wait till 2011 to see if they heard it that time..
Ford is not only reaching out to get ideas from customers but putting them into reality, time after time. If GM can't be a leader, they should at least be a follower, a follower of this trued and true way of doing it. Otherwise, read up on Darwin. Survival of the fittest. GM overall is my favorite manufacturer and there is no close 2nd place, but they are disappointing more people every single day.
