Formula,
Thanks for the info!!
It does have a nice agressive front.
Do you know if the bed of the truck has been seemlessly connected to the rest of the body like the Silv. SS show car (or SSR) or is the the bed a seperate piece like all other GM trucks?

Sweet. I like the front on that. But what color is that? Is that Electron Blue from the Corvette? Anyways, I'm disappointed about the power figures but it still looks pretty agressive. I like it.

I like it! Iam also kind of dissapointed about the figures as well, I think the GM performance team could of tried a little harder but can't wait till the aftermarket companies start getting a hold of them. Id rather a reg. cab then an ext. cab, but hey its better then nothing and looks mean as well and come on im sure it will still boot Id say high to mid 14's??

it looks awsome!!! does it have the extra short bed like the red 2001 Concept?? I hope they go with the composite bed too, to make it a little lighter/faster. I just wish it had a motor that put out more or the same HP as the lightning. 420HP 8.1L or LS6 would have been nice.
I think it will be pretty fast with 345HP. For example, take a look at the June Car & Driver. They do a long term test of the 2001 GMC C3, here are the times they get with it new and broken in after 40,000mi.
NEW
0-60 7.8
1/4mi 16.0 @ 86mph
40,000
0-60 6.8
1/4mi 15.2 @ 87mph
I think this truck will get into the 14's stock

Pretty much what I expected... isn't it common knowledge that the entire Silverado lin eis getting an Avalanche-like facelift?

Love the colour, truck looks good. Powertrain sucks. What's the ...... diff between this
and a Seiarra Denali? 25hp and bigger wheels?
Sorry but it's a joke- how about a lighter 2WD- 6.0 LS6 400hp.
GM has the tools to make a MUCH better truck.

I like it quite a bit. Glad it doesn't have the silly chrome grille bar. Nice wheels. the engine is a little weak but has a lot of potential for those who want to build upon it. One thing some might have missed... the AWD. Remember the Syclone? I'd bet the AWD would give this truck nearly equivalent street performance, if it had a catback/headers/K&N, to a stock Lightning or Dodge SRT10 due to the others being RWD.

The styling looks great, its what I expected. I really like the style of the new GM trucks. It just really really sucks about 345 hp. It'll be great for 60' races.

We got a truck to compete with the S/C Harley. Now what about the Lightning and RAM SRT/10 ???????????????
The Silverado SS engine would be great for SSR!!

Bigdarkfast- if you mean by "nearly equivlant street performance by virtue of it's AWD of the SRT and Lightning"
that the Silverado will stay with them because the Lightning and SRT spin too much-
You might be right if the other guys can't drive! Eve if they can't, once they hook- they'll passs the "SS" (super slow?) like it's going backwards.
Although the Lightning has only "40hp" mor- it has like a 65LBS of torque advantage.
Coupled with the ext cab and AWD- it will make the SS several hundred pounds heavier-
you'll need more then headers and a cat back to be even close.
Not trying to flame you or anything BTW
It's just clear that Chevy is going after a different market with this truck. They want sales but refuse to give the truck decent performance. 2WD- reg or ext cab and 400hp-
and even I'd be cheering- (although it wouldn't be as fast)

I don't like the avalanche style front and would have preferred the regular silverado's.
And what happened to all that talk about them rolling on 20's? Those look like 17's.
On a scale of 1 to 10, i'd give it a 6.
