You know us Chevy guys have problems, when the Viper guys start getting concerned about the '03 Cobra.

Nice. Understated, yet very funny.

The DEW98 Mustang that's coming should be far more impressive than the '03 Cobra....especially in terms of chassis and rigidity.
I wonder if a next gen Camaro will rise to the challenge...but more importantly...will those working on it have the green light to match it, if not surpass it?
....if not, we're all going to be some unhappy campers, circa 2007!

Yeah...his buddy's buddy's friend "ran against" one. Maybe the guy blew a shift, or blew the launch and grannied it down the track, or maybe he didn't. We don't know. The guy that's claiming 12.3@118 apparently owns the '03 Cobra. Unless he's lying, his info is first hand.
Funny...when I commented that two friends of mine saw that '03 at E-town run 12.0@119mph with a pulley swap I got flamed because it was second hand info (even when corroborated by Hunkins). So now we should believe the buddy's buddy who ran against one at the track?
I'll believe it more when I see it with my own eyes, but I have little doubt that times in this range will be common.

Some are calling BS on that guy on the corral, he has two 03 cobras, a viper, and a few other things...Must be nice..I think that those times are very posssible..seeing JDM ran a 12.4 stock w/ it...what i dont believe is how the guy says its feels more powerful then a Viper

How a vehicle "feels" is a purely subjective thing. A more upright vehicle, such as the Mustang, can "feel" very fast..... as does my Lightning, due to the push from the supercharged engine. When I have driven low slung sports cars (have test driven about everything), they have a tendency to not feel as fast...... even while going faster. May have something to do with the more laid back seating position.
I don't know..... this is just my observation.

On second thought I think its understandable, he owns a 96 viper which is 410 hp model i think...and the Cobra is a underated 390 hp.

When is some1 gonna run 1 of these things ALL stock with no mods at all?? When I hear those incredible claimed times from some1 that owns a Camaro and knows a stock 1 that did that, then I'll say OK.

Re-read the thread. The Viper guy claims that his Cobra IS "ALL stock". The trap speed does admittedly seem high. However, why would someone who owns Vipers BS about his $35K Cobra? Denial is such an ugly thing...
