They're here!!!! (Seattle, WA)

I was browsing Craigslist tonight and it appears a lot of local dealers got their first Camaro today!!!

Hmm...I know what I'm doing this weekend if I can find one that's still on the lot....

Speedway in Monroe has a red RS V6, Roy R. in Marysville has a black V6, Seaview in Lynnwood has a black V6 and Parkland in Tacoma has one but I don't know it's details yet. All are demo cars that cannot be sold for the time being so customers can come in and see, feel, touch the real thing. I expect Bellevue Chevy to have one also and plan to go there tomorrow at lunch to check it out. After calling and confirming of course. Checked out the black V6 at Seaview tonight. Didn't get much time with it but it sure did impress.

Bellevue Chevrolet does not have their demo car yet but I just talked to Lee J's and they just put their unit out on the floor for display. Will be over there in about 30 minutes if anyone nearby is reading this.

I went and looked at the one at Parkland. It is a Black V6 6 speed, sunroof with cloth interior. They already sold it. The Lady that bought it was there while we were looking at it. But part of the deal is she has to leave it with them for 1 month to keep on there showroom floor to display.

Ok are 90% of all the demo cars black? Of the six I've seen pics of or in person in the area all but one are black. That would make it closer to 85%.

In speaking with the sales people at Lee J's today they said the same thing regarding the sale of the car. They can sell it but owner can't move it until after May 6th. I feel bad for whoever buys that car. The paint is already trashed from the detail job they gave it and I can only imagine the condition it will by the time it's delivered.

So, these are units to be sold...and when they are sold, then they sit as showroom centerpieces until May 6?

I'm thinking it's going to be very difficult to drive one until the hype settles down...

I went to Mark Christopher today to check out their "display" Camaro. I was in time to see the new owner get the keys! It is a victory red RS auto. It was a young black guy. He said his father was waiting at another dealer in Ontario or Pomona in case they didn't sell him the one at Mark Christopher. He said he has to wait till sunday to take delivery. Lucky sob! He said he put 30k down and financed the other 13k. The sticker said 29k! The sales man told me that if you order one they charge 1k over sticker. If you wait it will be more like 6-7k over. Let the gouging begin! He said the ZR1 Vette went for 70k over sticker! Ithink I will try to pre-order. By the way I loved the car!

MSRP of $29k + Downpayment of $30k + Driveout of $43k = idiot.

hahaha i agree, he couldve got an SS with all the bells and whistles. The dealerhsip in my town just got a red V6 RS, cloth interior. The car was already sold but it is still sitting on the lot on display. I just dont know how long they have to leave it. I dont think i could let my car sit there and get fingered b the general public for weeks.
