maybe it will look better in person?

The Hatch+trunk design is kinda strange. If you have a hatch, why would you need that little bitty trunk opening?

Looks like Bangle's designs still lives on past his departure. I understand the difficulty in trying to evolve the look of a sedan while keeping the heavy branded BMW elements in place. However, some of the designs from them and M-B recently illustrate that making a change just for the sake of change isn't always the best plan.

BMW seems to like the fastback look and it was only a matter of time until they tried to incorporate it into a 3-5 series. This one has some utility and innovation but it just needs some refinement to the wrapper.

They took a pretty good looking car (the 5 series) and in every single way that they changed it, they managed to make it look worse.

I had high hopes for BMW after seeing the new Z4, which I thought looked really good inside and out.
