NE1 know what this street sign means?

Anyone now what this cross they painted on my street means. I live in Chesterfield, MI. Their is also a nail in the center. It is causing a great debate in the neighborhood.

I would guess it is for surveying purposes.

Yeah, survey markings probably for use with aerial photogrametry- get ready for construction in a couple years- first you survey, then you design, then let a contract, then build it....

Looks like the subdivision off 24 mile road built by Lombardo Builders. I recognize the homes.
