If your rear end is stock, I can tell you now you dont have limited slip, you have a torsen.
to check the oil you simply pull the fill plug on the side, and stick your finger in the hole, the fluid should be right at the botom of the hole. if its not, add till it starts to come out...

According to my door sticker mine is a GU8 which is limited slip!
In checking with Chevrolet by VN it's a limited slip.
Whats the difference in the two
