I suggest talking to your engine builder and SRP as they would be able to get you a better Idea of the limits of your components

people spray a 150 shot on a lt1 with stock internals. go to a 300 shot and see what happens. theres a reason why after market companies make forged internals. btw congrats on that new motor.

But I have seen ring lands break off forged piston because the rings were set up for NA use, not for the extra cylinder pressure of nitrous.

One of my friends destroyed a fully forged 383 on a 100 shot

If its built for it ( Ring gap ), id go bigger, Id do a 300 shot. But id do it on a progressive controller or a dual stage set up for sure

i was assuming that he built the 383 with the appropriate rings. agreed a dual stage would be nice set up. i would die for a duel stage from nitrous outlet. drool.

I'd worry about the pistons.

Spray a 250 shot Kyle. Make sure you run good fuel, pull timing and check the colder plugs.

Hey Kyle,

Better yet, I think you should spray a 400 shot so you can keep up.

Just joking around.

Give me a call sometime to catch up.

Later,

Tony

if the motor wasnt build for juice i would stay where your at. Maybe 225, tuning is key though.

My engine was built for nitrous, but also to pass Ca. smog. I run high tens, low elevens on a 200 shot, thru stock cats. I have the hot cam with .525 lift. Lots of other stuff. I tried going with a bigger shot, and didn't notice a significent difference. Figured that with the limited lift and cam that I have, only so much can get injested into the motor. So I'd say go up a little at a time, until you see where it begins to not make a difference. By the way, nice 60 foot.

if your motor will lives or dies on a big hit depends not so much on your parts but your tuning ability.
the standard ring height SRP pistions will take more then you can imagine ... if you have your tune on, if your don't even a nitrous pistion will break.

i ran a 325 shot on a cast crank, 2 bolt 350, with ARP fitted stock reconditioned rods and SRP pistions for years, but i've been doing this for a day or two.

you have to ask yourself if you think you know enough about nitrous to do it or not, and even if not, there's only one way to learn!

I thought you forgot about this post.

250 sounds good and it should run real good!

Now get the tranny bugs worked out.
