ok so i have 17x11 zr1's in the back of my camaro and i cant find a tire that i can afford at the moment. so my question is will the 285/40/17's fit on these 17x11's and has anyone done this.

 

Most manufacturers recommend a wheel width of 9.5" - 11.0" for a 285/40-17 tire. So, yes it will fit correctly. May not look good... sort of stretched, and will provide no protection at all against curb rash, but it will not be dangerous.
