It seems to me that if they supercharged the ls3 it would be more than 505hp. Plus if it was a choice between the ls7 or supercharged ls3 they would probably put the cheaper option in the new camaro. It would be nice to have to ls7 dry sump oil system though.

No LS7 in the new top dog Camaro. Rumored to be a supercharged 6.2 with at least 500 hp.

They dont know what they are talking about.

They refer to the LS2 as the "upgraded" engine, which we all know isnt going to be true, it will probably either be the G8's 362 hp V8, and the LS3, or just the LS3(which i hope is the case).

They also said the Vert would be out in 09...it wont be out until 2010.

Its ALL speculation until you hear it directly from GM, especially when the car is still this far away from production.

Did you notice the date on that story? (May 15.) Its been posted and discussed at length elsewhere in the forum. No LS7 for Camaro.

The "top dog" has been rumored to have a supercharged LS3.

I agree a supercharged 6.2 LS3 would be Sweet. But what is the price going to be. Both the Z06 and GT500 have traction issues limiting the power that actually gets to the ground at the track. Instead put some $ into teh N/A LS3, Headers, Catback, Ram Air, and alittle hotter cam/intake/heads (it gave the little LS1 a 50HP bump and keeps mpg close... LS6 Z06)

I could care less about the specific HP numbers. If the top of the line camaro can beat the new SVT cobra I will be happy.

If the camaro is a success at launch. Then Chevy would be rushing all the different models they can with every option. Supercharger would def. come out. It wouldn't surprise me if Yenko, Berger, Zl1, etc.would def. be coming out.

Rumors that were floating around here were that they are going to have 3 different versions of the S/C 6.2. A high boost intercooled motor, a low boost intercooled motor, and a low boost non-intercooled motor. This would make sense due to the fact that you would have the same long block assy. for all three. Nothing more than pulley size and state of tune would determine between a 450 hp motor and a 650 hp motor. Good for GM because it would help keep costs down by not needing numerous engines to cover the different models and good for us because that for around $500 you can produce the hp levels of the higher rated engines. Not that all three engines will make it into the Camaro but I can definately see one if not both of the lower engines being slated for the Camaro.

I would imagine that the intercooler wouldn't change between the two motors that have one. Just the pulley and the state of tune. The third motor just wouldn't have one all together.
