lt1 with 3.73's what did you run in 1/4 mile??

Hi,

I just put 3.73's in 6 speed F-1 camaro lt1. It has same hp specs from factory as the 96 SS. My car is stock with 305 hp. what can I expect to run in the 1/4 mile? With the stock 3.42's I ran a 14.08 @ 102mph. Just curious

Jeff,
Not trying to sound like an ***, but this is the kill section that discusses racing wins and losses. Your post (for future referrence) would be better suited for the lounge.

A moderator may move this topic, but to give you an answer I would say 2 solid tenths on average...if you can hook. Many times with steeper gearing people expect better times, but come away with worse due to traction problems. If you are running DR or slicks then expect up to a max of 4 tenths combined.

96 LT1 6 speed with bolt ons, 13.2@105. It ran 13.2 with 3.42, 3.73, and 4.10's.

I knocked a 1/2 second off with 4:10's and thats taking it easy out of the hole. 3:73's arent too much bigger than stock 2 to 3 tenths I would say. You will see a difference at the track I did.

Do you have weight reduction on the car? That's a killer E.T. and trap for the mods.

Nope, except for the spare and jack. I even run on the stock wheels. Thanks for the compliment.

Back when my car was a pretty stock (M6, stock gears, headers and drag radials), I was running consistent 13.5-13.6 at 100-101.

If you are hitting 102 I would expect maybe a 13.4 in good air, and the addition of gears should lower that by a couple of tenths if you can hook up.

The weather has a huge impact on performance.
