Yeah, another photoshop. As much as I hate to say it, hideaways as we knew them might not be possible. I'm sure that GM has something up its sleeve to get hideaways on it but... We'll see if it happens.

Yes, for new vehicles. I dont think anyone can stop you if you modify them yourself though.

The only way it would be a federal law is if it states that any automanufacturer can not include a set-up that is at one point covered in some way. The Federal wouldn't have any jurisdiction to mandiate how you can or can't modify your car. It is like window tinting, or lifting a truck... all varys by state.

That picture obviously leads you to believe the car is using LED headlights. Which haven't been perfected just yet, but if they were I dont see why a setup like the one above would be restricted...
The grill pieces aren't obstructing the light because the light is being generated by LEDs which are totally between the pieces... Hell I dont see why you coudln't design a narrow rectangular casing like a Hella FF75 to go in between the vents that would sove the problem the same way. 
Anyway, from the factory all thats unlikely, but Im sure the aftermarket will have something out.

I hear ya Casull. Thats the thing man. no one knows?? Is it a regulation..and if so I would imagine it would be a national one for car manufacting. But its kinda weird that all the cars that were popular or known by the pop ups. They changed them to fixed lights.

There is a pretty strong rumor that they are looking at giving the C7 pop-ups again, due to some complaining from the die-hards. So I'm not sure about there being a law against it.
