safety belts : question

Hi,

just small question. I tried to pull as hard and quick as possible on the belts in the car and ... nothing appears, like the seat belts wasn't working. I asked a dealer here and he told me it was "normal" on this car and that the belt might work only upon a big crash (?)

Were is the true ? if the belts are not working i prefer change them. Any others with these problems ?

Also, in case it doesn't work : is it possible to put 5 point harness in place of the OEM belts ?

Thanks for answers.

Pierre

The belts work based on inertia. Try pulling on the belt during a turn or when braking.

And what does this have to do with Engine Tech?

my seat belts are pretty sensitive, if i pull them a little too fast they will lock
seat belts should lock if you pull them quickly
i think you may have a problem.
when installing a 5 point harness you should have a bar running behind the seats to attach the upper two points of the harness
you can run the upper points of the harness to the floor pan but its not recommended, in the event of an accident you can seriously hurt your back
