because a friend of mine keeps telling me when they make the new supra which he says is 500 hp twin turbo V8 it will beat corvettes and i said uh not the z06 and he was like oh yeah it will

so me having some intelligence figured to avoid an arguement that i know i would win and just let him think that... so my question is this....


are they even going to be producing another supra?

 

It's looking highly likely that there will be a Supra, however there are several sporty Toyota concept cars on the market right now and nobody is completely sure which is any it might be based on. Rumors range from a 5.0 liter 450+hp naturally aspirated V8 much like the IS-F will have (though the IS-F may only end up with 425hp or so... we'll see), to a high performance hybrid electric setup... or both...

The likelyhood of a new Supra within 2 years time from now is very high. Details beyond that are plentiful, but conflicting, over hyped, and really all over the place.

 

Well the new skyline is a go, so im sure toyota will want an entry in the "I have no chance against a Corvette" market.

Hell Honda is even talking about a new NSX so anything is possible.

 

I think it would be very interesting if Toyota built a Supra to go head to head with the Z06.

 

I have a feeling that a front engine super coupe from Toyota Inc would be badged a Lexus in the US and other Lexus selling countries, are there any countries still selling US Lexus brand vehicles as Toyotas?

 

and if the **** costs more than $45,000 like the mk4's did, they will not sell very many after the initial rush. my mk2 supra cost the same as a z-28 in 84 and had lots of options available, and it was a little quicker if the performance 4.70 lsd was optioned. like mine has. the just got to expensive in the last generation for them to sell well here.

 

The Corvette will have a little trick up it's sleeve pretty soon as well... Blue Devil.
