Ed Welburn (GM VP of Global Design) was on Autoline Detroit over the weekend. He said although the Camaro and Vette would stand out for the "Chevy theme," they would both definitely have the gold bowtie front and center.

I guess my first purchase for my 5th gen will be a can of spray paint for the bowtie. I know a lot of people were wishing for a different color too.

What color are you going to paint it?? Flat black??

 

I think putting a great big gold bowtie on all their cars is very tacky. ESPECIALLY GOLD. Second only to brown as the worst in my opinion.

 

I'd rather mine be blue.....but maybe thats just me

i have no problem with the gold bowtie. i'm sad to see the red bowtie go since it was always the color on the baddest cars, but i like the gold bowtie and i'm glad Chevy is going for a uniform look on all their cars in all countries.

 

Would be kind of cool if the bow tie matched your paint color of the car..... could even have a little of gold trim around the edges......

 

I can tell you guys that Design feels pretty strongly about the gold bowtie.

 

They make tons of aftermarket stuff.

And you can bet that when the car is released, the aftermarket will be flooded with every type of accessory you can imagine.

I probably wont paint mine, but i will buy a black or red one like the one on my 06 Tahoe.

 

i wouldnt worry about the color im sure there will be a lot of aftermarker replacement colors

 

Very classic...I loved the one we had on our ZL-1.

 

i like the lack of a bowtie on the 4th gens. the red, white, and blue camaro marker on the grille is fine for me..

 

I always thought the gold bowtie was more for trucks.

 

I’m not too opposed to a gold bowtie…..I think it would look pretty good with SOM

 

I always liked the red bowtie for performance models.

 

they did have the bowtie... in the LT1s it was in the front and back... in the LS1 it was only in the back.

Now.. ok.. I can understand a bowtie in the 5th Gen camaro.. but a bowtie in the corvette? why??? everyone in the planet knows.... this: "Corvette by Chevrolet" don't ruin the lines of the vette with the bowtie. I am a hard core GM fan.. but i think they shouldn't add that to the vette
