Car alarm going off for no reason??

I woke up this morning to my car alarm going off. No big deal I thought, car was fine. So I turn it off and walk away, I get twenty feet away and it goes off again So I think maybe I'll just lock the doors without using my key chain electric lock. It did the same thing. When I unlock it with my key chain it honks three times? Right now its ok but somethings up. Its a 1996 Z btw. Anyone had this problem?

Alarm going off just after arming is usually the shock sensor going bad. You can try turning the sensitivity down - if that doesn't work, disconnect it and see if it stops.

is this an aftermarket alarm? If so sometimes a burnt out dome light will cause what you are describing.
