GM and Nissan my "partner"? WTH!

http://today.reuters.com/stocks/Quot...ENT.XML&rpc=66

So would this mean GM and Nissan would maybe share engines and platforms?

I am really not looking forward to this if it happens.

Possibly, though I don't quite know if it would go that far.

I am, whatever keeps GM ahead of Toyota.

Kerkorian suggested it. Stock price spiked. Kerkorian can dump his stock now.

Any questions?

I dont think its going to happen, or get close to happening. There are a few potential benefits and way too many risk. A camaro on the new G35 platform would be badass, but so would the G35...

It's going to take more than Nissan to put GM ahead of Toyota; it's going to take a way to convince scorned loyalists with leaky Grand Ams to give them another chance.

eeww. a camaro on the G35 platform? I consider those things elongated beetles. It's not a look i'd associate with an American car.

Well I guess this goes beyond the joint ventures they have/had with Toyota and Honda.

Perhaps you're still looking for a doorstop Camaro a la fourth gen. But the proportions are right and it would/will be a smaller, lighter, more nimble car.

That's not what's happening. It would be illegal for a major shareholder like Kerkorian to make very public suggestions or rumours (such as a possible merger) for the sole purpose of spking the share price and selling his shares. The SEC would not allow it.

Ummm...... dude..... do you even know what a platform is?

It has nothing to do with a car's looks.
