My '90 Grand Prix vs Asphalt and boy-rice's stares

Ok a little information here. Just bought the car; it's a '90 Grand Prix, 5 speed manual. 234k original miles. It has TGP 245/16's on all four corners, and has TGP oversized tips. Also has a factory-style wing. It's a beast. Lots of fun; four brand new sensatrac struts+245" tires+STB= Cornering beast. I have raced a '98 Monte Carlo, early to mid '90's 325I, '98 Delta 88, '99 Mustang GT 4.6, '97-ish Lexus ES300, 80's Ram Charger (and I had 3 heavy people in the car), and maybe a few others I dont remember. Only car that beat my A$$ is the 4.6 GT. He did so in style by leaving me in a smokey brakepress pre-a$$beating.
Where I work (delta sonic; car wash) there are about 32.53987 Boy-Rice type people. They will take their '96 Honda Prelude over a Stage-3 Turbo
(full exhaust/intake) '02 Monte Carlo quite literally; this happened about 2 days ago. They LOVE their imports. Well, this one kid that owns an RSX laughed when I told him about my new-old car; a '90 Grand Prix 5spd. He wasn't too impressed. I wrote this story via AIM trying to chear a fellow female-friend up due to a family-death:

This ****** import owner thinks his POS honda can take my car. I was letting the car warm up for a second in the parking lot, and he was walking thru Teds Hotdogs parkinglot and started staring at me.

i looked at him, threw him a few revs and punched it.

First gear is obliberated; it errupts in a frenzy of furious posi-burnouts that not only screached like a little kid that couldn't have the special sucker he so longed for, but smoked just as bad.

5800rpms.. end of first gear

i let it go for a second so i dont loose too many RPM's during the 1-2 shift, finaly, it's time;

i clutch it, put the shifter into second gear, and drop the hammer

second gear errupts into a furious frenzy of tire screaching and tire smoke as well. By now, I think i showed mr. honda-lover what American Iron can do. It's time to let off before the pastor of the church i am currently tearing the tires of in the parking lot of, becomes angered

I let off, and take off with the loud, harsh gurggle of the powerful 3.1 5 speed Pontiac

I take a quick glance behind me to see a curtain of fog (also known as tire-smoke) quickly envelope Teds HotDogs parking lot.

I then proceed to take off into the sunset with my almighty 3.1

The End

A 280hp 4.6 is a bit different than a 190hp rsx-s.. but still I am pretty positive that the rsx would still whoop my *** into the ground I already told him I would whoop his *** with my Z28.. the guy that REALLY pisses me off is the one with the bone-stock POS '96 accord that thinks he's king sh*t.

^Me neither. Especially since it's a factory posi unit. But what boggles my mind even more so is how it still burns out thru second gear.. with my new v-rate 245/16 Firestone Firehawk VRS (or whatever). Heck.. I barked third gear (and five of my friends that were passed in a Pathfinder when I did it) can confirm it. I am gonna try to get a video I think; that would be very neat

Re: My '90 Grand Prix vs Asphalt and boy-rice's stares

I used to have a '80 chevy citation with the 2.5 L iron duke and 4 speed manual trans. I would burn some nice rubber with that car as well. lol. I didn't race anyone with it though unless someone wanted a laugh. The Citation II with the 2.8 L V6 was kind of a sleeper back in the early 80s. V8s back then made about 160-180 HP. lol.

Anyway, is everything else stock on that car? Can you beat a stock Prelude with a stock Grand Prix?

Re: My '90 Grand Prix vs Asphalt and boy-rice's stares

^Oh hell ya man.. to the citation
But my car is only rated at 140hp.. and just last week when I got my new tires on (in fact, RIGHT after getting them on.. right down the street!!) I raced a 250hp Grand Marquis and started pulling him pretty good. I've raced a brand new f150 (dont know if it's a 4.6 or a 5.4.. I know the guy so I will have to ask him and report back). Today I raced some stuck up ******* in a mid 90's suburu something or other. It was green and was a wagon I think. NOT a big *** forester, the one a little bit smaller than it. I pulled him HARD in fourth gear on the 400 (I didn't downshift) (the ******* cut me off and then FLIPPED me off so I had to pull up next to him and then we continued to race).
Oh so like I was saying, my car is only rated at 140hp, imagine what would happen if I dropped a 180hp Quad-4 into my car
And it's REALLY funny you ask about a prelude!!!! Theres this chinese mother****er that used to always cut me off when I had my buick and my bronco, but i could never catch up to him to cut him off! Well, keep in mind a week or so ago I got 600$ worth of new rubber; Firestone Firehawk VRS v-rates (all my struts are shot; I have new sensatrac's sitting in the trunk :blah: )Now, fast forward to a few days ago. It's me (185lbs), my 2 best friends eric (320lbs) and chris (160lbs). We ran into this same prelude that always insists on cutting me off at the gas station. Me, knowing full-well I would get my *** beat with three heavy assed people in the car decides to "fuel up" and wait around for him to finish. Well lets just say that even with all 3 of us heavy people in the car, first gear I ALWAYS out-torque the prelude (it's a '99-ish btw..). So much, in fact, that I have to let OFF the gas (we are one single-lane TWISSSSTY backroads). That right there threw me off. That and have damn-near a 4 thousand pound race weight Well he pulled pretty damned hard on me, but, swear to god, when the corners came up I was literally right back on his bumper out-torquing him and outhandling him with ease. Then letting off because I dont think fast enough to go around him (idiot.. i know). So pretty much he wasted me.. but I had a 4k race weight (normally about 3400lbs w/ me), blown struts (rear left is hammering my rear-dash; the bolt gave away but it's fixable), and lastly... the prelude is modded. I didn't notice it, but Eric said that the brakes are cross-drilled/vented, and the thing I noticed is that everytime he shifts, he's coughing up smoke. He's without a doubt modded. But one day I shall run into him.. ALONE.. and probably be right on his bumper the whole time until the corners come. Then I forsee me passing him.
That was very difficult to write so you would understand, so if you dont get a part of it ask me

EDIT: Oh and to answer your questions, yes, the car is stock with a y-pipe leak that sounds good as heck lol.

DOUBLE EDIT: Oh shoot; i just noticed something. In my FIRST post, I said a kid with a '96 prelude; i meant ACCORD my bad. BUT.. in my last post directed towards Shred, I did in fact race a prelude in East Aurora Just to clear some things up.
