All Natural All LT1 ET Record

What is the all natural, all LT1 (heads, intake) ET record? I'm also talking about a street legal car - not a hollowed out shell with a motor.

Okay, so you want the fastest LT1 running LT1 heads, LT1 intake manifold, naturally aspirated. I follow you so far.

As for street legal vs. hollowed out shell, those are not mutually exclusive of each other. A true street legal car has:

DOT-approved tires
Seatbelts with shoulder belts
Windows & windshield
License plate
Catalytic converters in stock location

But you could still gut most of the interior, so I'm not sure what restriction you're actually trying to place on this question. Do you mean full interior, full weight? If so, what about replacing the front suspension with lighter tubular components? Is that allowed?

I'm guessing yours is right up there at the top of the list, but you should clarify what you're looking for a little better.

Does this guy fit the bill, or are you looking for cars without nitrous either?

The whole street legal thing can be very subjective...I fit what you're looking for, but I'm sure I'm nowhere near the quickest/fastest...

By all natural, do you mean stock LT1 heads(no porting), stock LT1 cam, stock LT1 crank(no stroker), stock 48mm throttle body, etc.? You have to be more specific in what you're asking for.

silly to ask this question and try and put limitations on it. Everything is subjective as to what is "streetable" and what isn't.

Well go strap some ET streets on a NHRA Super Stocker LT1 car and there ya go.

Cats? You don't put cat's on MOST street cars, so why would you put that in there.

Catalytic converters are required on all modern street cars. I don't remember what the year was where they started requiring it, but it was way before the LT1 debuted in 1992. Therefore, any car which came with an LT1 from the factory would only technically still be "street legal" if it still had catalytic converters.

I was just questioning how exactly we were supposed to interpret the "street legal" requirement stipulated by the original poster.

Re: All Natural All LT1 ET Record

Sorry guys. I guess it needs to be more clear cut. I was just curious if there were such a thing like a 3500 race weight with driver, LT1 based (block heads, intake) all natural record. The street legal thing isn't as important I guess as long as the car is "full raceweight".
What I'm getting at is how much can one expect with these stock but modified pieces and a full raceweight car? Is there anyone in the 9's all natural full weight?

Re: All Natural All LT1 ET Record

I highly doubt that anyone has made 9s NA and be what you consider full raceweight. There are a few 10 sec. cars there but don't know what they weighed. I made 10.93 with a 3420ish raceweight with ported lt1 heads, lt1 intake and stock crank on pump gas. As far as I know to get a lt1 headed ar in the 9s would take a totally stripped car.
