European Threats???

Fellas my car will be here next week and there are a few drag strips around here. I'd like to know who the big guns are as far as europen rides. I know the obvious exotics but what about the sleeper BMW's, Mercedes, lower level Porche's etc. Who should I hunt first with my 99 TA.

Re: European Threats???

i didnt realize you are over in europe, thought you were just going up against some european cars here. in that case, many, many cars are rated to excede 200 mph for the autobahn and whatever they call the italian autobahn. good luck. you have a chance outta the hole against a few but once they get moving, its all over except for the crying.

Re: European Threats???

Let me see , It depends on what you did to your TA. Any thing below a M3 is not worht mentioning . And that goes like wise for 996 911 Carrera. And anything lesss than an Audi RS4 is nothing. Mercedes anything less than an AMG 55 seres is nothing also.
Then you got the Ferris , Lambos and other Uber Exotics.
Come down to Bitburg Germany for some good old fashion dragracing.

If you come across any AMG E55s don't give them an inch...12.30s at 117 stock and they have ridiculous top end...They are the true sleepers of the Mercedes world...

A Boxter S runs a low 14. The Cayman S may be quicker but I don't expect any stock Boxter to dip below 14.0

I get to race with the Lexus club next weekend. Hopefully I can surprise 'em with a plain ol' sedan

Re: European Threats???

Boxter S/Cayman S can certainly run better than a low 14. Weigh 2900-3000 pounds, mid-engine, and has 280HP.

Mid 13s at 103-105 seems to be the times they are running.

Re: European Threats???

Yeah, I should have mentioned the power increase/freshening they got last year. If I had to choose between the Boxter or Z4, I'd go Boxter. A really fun car to drive (friend of family has an older S), but I just can't get over the $$$ hump.
