wierdest thing i have ever seen

i'm not sure if this is the right place to post this but here goes.
when i first bought my 94' z my garage door opener worked fine.press button door went up.then it started taking a few more presses then stopped working.i replaced it with an aftermarket remote door opner and it does the same thing.heres the strange part.it only happens when my car is running.remote works in wifes car runnning or not.works with my car engine off and the key on but not when the engine is running not even if i stand outside the car with the remote...what could interfere so bad that it would do this ????
