bullet mufflers...

Just wondering if running 2 inline would help dampen the sound. I like the sound they make but it's kind of loud, and the construction makes it easy to mount under a lowered car. I have 2 12" bullets right now waiting to go on and I'm considering putting a couple 18" bullets up there too right after the X.

Re: bullet mufflers...

It will help a bit but not by much...I had the same problem first I had 12" it was very loud, than I add 18 inch bullet and still was too loud. So I replaced those 18 inch bullet with magnaflow straight bullet mufflers (http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Magna...25605407QQrdZ1
And now my car sounds as it should. I lost only 2RWHP from that conversion...

Re: bullet mufflers...

What about running some high-flow cats? I can get some stainless steel cats new for about $70 each. I can deal with loosing a couple HP over a more decent exhaust, I'll be gaining plenty anyway over the single 3" pipe on a stroker. I dont have much more room under the car to put mufflers so I dont want to run two just to find out it isn't as quiet as I'd like, and I figured the cats would help dampen it too.

If you have place for cats you can do it....but remember that cats have to be placed as close to the engine as you can, they have to get hot to work properly, if they will be cold they will get clogged...
